Founded in 1899 at City College of New York, Delta Sigma Phi is among the nation’s largest social fraternities. Delta Sig was first brought to the University of Georgia in 2001 and was officially chartered as the Theta Chi Chapter in 2003. Despite how recently the Theta Chi Chapter was chartered, our chapter has been awarded the Pyramid of Excellence, the highest honor given to a chapter within the Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity, three times consecutively. Comprised of a diverse group of men from all over the country, we are proud to give our members the opportunity to shape new traditions as we challenge each brother to become a better man.

The Theta Chi Chapter boasts an active social calendar. Throughout the year we host numerous band parties, attend sorority socials and host date nights. In the fall, we host our semi-formal, the Sailors Ball, and in the spring we hold our annual formal, the Carnation Ball, in historic and respected cities such as Savannah, GA, New Orleans, LA, Nashville, TN and, most recently, Charleston, SC. In addition to social events, members of our chapter are constantly competing on intramural sports teams as well as in many other brotherhood events.

Beyond social and sporting events, Delta Sig strives to stand out amongst other UGA fraternities academically and philanthropically. In challenging each brother of our chapter to better himself, we constantly are striving for academic success. Over the past few years, our chapter been able to stay in the top five GPA ranking against other fraternities on campus. Our members are actively involved in a wide variety of clubs and organizations on campus such as Dawg Camp, the Dean W. Tate Honor Society, UGA Miracle, UGA HEROs, the Apollo Society, SMIF, the Corsair Society, Terry Student Consulting, Arch Society, Relay for Life, Shop with a Bulldawg, Manna Project International, Finance Society, Student Government Association, American Society of Civil Engineers, etc. Additionally, during the 2015-2016 school year, our national organization awarded our chapter its annual philanthropy award. We earned this award through our partnerships with the American Red Cross, UGA Miracle and our own philanthropy, Miss Sorority Row, which benefits Extra Special People, Inc, a local charity in Athens, GA.

Delta Sigma Phi is looking for future leaders to carry on the ideals of our founders both on UGA’s campus and their communities. Delta Sig presents an opportunity for man, characterized by a variety of interests, backgrounds and experiences, to join an organization that embraces the individuality of each of its members, offers leadership opportunities and conducts itself in a professional manner while remaining affordable. If you are looking for a brotherhood to enrich your college experience, a fraternity that motivates you to achieve your personal best and a chapter that will train you to be an effective campus leader, then Delta Sigma Phi is for you.
